Diwali, the festival of light, is here again, symbolizing the triumph of light over darkness. Celebrated globally, including in India and Nepal, this festival marks Lord Rama's return to Ayodhya after defeating Ravana. The United Nations has not passed any resolution regarding this joyful celebration, but here's your guide to the festivities.

This year's Diwali Muhurat for Lakshmi-Ganesh Puja falls between 05:40 to 07:36, lasting for 1 hour and 55 minutes. The Pradosh Kaal is from 05:29 to 08:07, and the Taurus period aligns with 05:40 to 07:36.

For a successful Puja, prepare by cleaning the worship area, laying a red or yellow cloth, and placing grains on a platform. Arrange the Kalash with water, betel nut, marigold flower, coin, and rice grains. Adorn the Kalash with five mango leaves in a circular pattern and position the idols of Lakshmi and Ganesha.

Create a rice grain mountain on a plate, form a turmeric lotus, and place coins in front of the idols. Follow the rituals of applying tilak, offering flowers, and reciting Diwali Puja Mantras. Bathe the idols, wipe them clean, and perform aarti with a lit lamp.

The Diwali Puja Mantras include:

  • Shri Ganesh Mantra: "Gajananambhootgabhu ganadisevitam kapittha jambu phalcharubhakshanam. Umasutan su shoka vinaskarakam namami vighneshwarapadapankajam."
  • Kuber Mantra: "Om Hreem Shreem Kreem Shreem Kuberaya Ashta-Lakshmi Mama Grihe Dhanam Puray Puray Namah."

Illuminate your Diwali with these rituals and mantras, ushering in prosperity and joy. May your celebration be as bright as the festival itself.
