Since Rohit Sharma is unhappy under Hardik Pandya's leadership, he may opt to go from the Mumbai Indians after the end of the 2024 Indian Premier League. Teammates supposedly have a hard time cooperating in the locker room since the two players often quarrel over different topics.

The Indian men's cricket team captain, Rohit Sharma, is furious with Hardik Pandya for leading the Indian Premier League (IPL). So, Sharma has the option to depart the Mumbai Indians after their lucrative 2024 season. Rohit became the all-time leading scorer and most-capped player for the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League following a 36-year, 9.2 crore rupee deal. He has been playing for the squad since 2011.

So far in his career, he has scored 5,110 runs in 201 games. Despite leading the Mumbai Indians to five IPL titles, he was fired the year prior to the 2024 IPL auction. After Rohit stepped down as captain, Hardik Pandya supposedly failed to live up to expectations.

The MI players have informed their teammates about the rift in the locker room, which started because Rohit isn't happy with Hardik Pandya as captain. Now that MI is at the top of the league rankings and under scrutiny, the fact that it lost just serves to heighten the gravity of the situation.

The insider claims that the two players are unable to work together in the locker room because they are often arguing over who gets to make the calls.

The first 2024 Indian Premier League match between the Mumbai Indians and the Gujarat Titans on March 24 had a noticeable impression on the team's locker room. At the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Hardik and Rohit were seen having passionate conversations throughout the match.

Even the Mumbai Indians' fan base isn't happy with Hardik being appointed captain; in fact, they've mocked Pandya in the three games prior to this one to express their displeasure with the appointment.

The 30-year-old all-around player has taken a lot of heat for his skills, both from fans and professionals in the field. Two incidents—one on March 27 in Hyderabad when Sunrisers Hyderabad's batters were on top of their game against MI and another in which Hardik sent Tim David ahead of him in the run chase against GT—are cited as causes for this criticism. Experts and fans alike have pointed out these two mistakes.
